Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Apps 365 Ltd ("we", "us", "our") handles your personal data when you use whatmypetwants.com (the "Site"). We are the data controller for the purposes of the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. We are a company registered in England & Wales.
The short version: You can use the pet scanner without an account. We don't sell your personal data. Photos you upload are processed to generate your result and are not used to identify you. We use cookies for essential functionality, advertising and to keep the Site running.

We do not knowingly collect data that identifies you from a pet photo. We do not run facial recognition on people. Before a photo is sent to our AI provider for processing, we strip embedded location (EXIF/GPS) metadata from it.
2. Payments
Optional purchases (for example, Hall of Fame entries, premium features and prints) are processed by Stripe and/or PayPal. Your full card details are entered directly with them and are never stored on our servers. Their handling of your data is governed by their own privacy policies (Stripe, PayPal).
3. Advertising & cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to run essential features and to display advertising.
- Google AdSense and its partners may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can control personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings and learn more at Google's advertising policy.
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this and/or other sites.
- If you are in the UK/EEA, we ask for your consent before setting non-essential (advertising and analytics) cookies. You can change your choice at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
4. How we use your information
- To provide the pet scanner, readings, Dream Mode art and any features you use;
- To operate, secure and improve the Site and prevent abuse;
- To process purchases and enter competitions you choose to join;
- To send communications you have opted into, and to show advertising.
5. Sharing your information
We share data only with providers that help us run the Site: our AI processing providers (to generate your reading), payment processors (Stripe, PayPal), email delivery, hosting, and advertising/analytics partners (Google). We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data where required by law.
6. Affiliate links
Some product links are affiliate links, including through the Amazon Associates Programme and Awin. If you buy through them we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This does not change what data we collect from you on this Site.
7. Data retention
The photo you upload to scan your pet is never stored on our servers. It is sent to our AI provider, used to generate your reading and any Dream Mode art, and then discarded once your result is returned. Your generated image is delivered to your browser, not kept by us, unless you choose to save it to a feature (see below).
Images are only stored in our database when you take a specific action that needs them - for example entering the Hall of Fame, ordering a card or print, creating a pet battle, or emailing yourself a meme. When we do store an image, it is automatically deleted after 15 days. Hall of Fame entries are kept for up to 45 days so the monthly competition board stays intact, then their images are removed too. Records needed for accounting (such as an order's payment reference and status) are kept as required by law, but the personal image and any shipping details are erased on the same schedule.
Usage logs are kept for a limited period for security and analytics. You can ask us to delete your data at any time using the tool below, or by emailing us.
8. Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. To exercise any of these, email us at privacy@whatmypetwants.com. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
🗑️ Delete my data
Remove images and personal data linked to this device, and unsubscribe any email you enter, straight away. Records you paid for (such as a Hall of Fame entry) may need email verification - contact us and we'll complete those.
9. Children
The Site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal data. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
10. International transfers
Some providers (for example, AI and advertising partners) may process data outside the UK/EEA. Where they do, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or equivalent.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version.
